The kid and I have been trying out some of the new games that have been added in 2012 to the already award-winning line of educational products from ThinkFun. Recently, we told you about the new Pathwords Jr. that Kylie became an instant fan of, and today we wanted to introduce you to Turnstile, a logic game similar to Rush Hour that has become so popular. Turnstile is a super creative and fun single-player game that increases reasoning, logic, and critical thinking skills using unique turning pieces. The game includes the game grid, 4 color tokens, 4 gray tokens, 10 turnstile pieces, 40 puzzle cards featuring puzzles from beginner to expert, and my favorite… the Game-Go bag to store the entire game in. The Game-Go bag makes it super easy to clean up and store the game, as well as take it along for the ride when you head out with the family!
Caitlyn quickly became a Rush Hour fanatic last year when we reviewed that game, so I knew this new and unique logic game would be right up her alley. Geared for ages 8 to adult (Yes, it’s super FUN for grown-ups too!), Turnstile is quickly addictive, and I can totally see a Turnstile app in the future. I would totally buy it! Here’s how to play…
One of the things that makes Turnstile so challenging and addictive at the same time, is the ever-changing game grid. The moment you turn one of the turnstile pieces you’re game grid changes. This means you have to constantly be thinking ahead a few moves. This new addition to the ThinkFun “Ignite Your Mind” logic puzzle series is so clever and fun! You can snag your own Turnstile game for $19.99 at ThinkFun.com. Visit the SmartPlay blog to catch a glimpse of Turnstile’s inventor, Steve Hayton, and well as the ingenious inventors of games like Cartoon It! (another My Four Monkeys favorite), and Roll & Play!
